7 States and territories down, one to go. Then, Cheryl and I can say we've been to all of Australia. We just got back from Darwin last week (actually this time last week we were on a plane heading for Darwin) and I must say that Darwin is very different to all the cities we've been to. Not only is it really hot (worse than Penang hot as Cheryl puts it), trying to get to the attractions without a car or decent transport was a bit annoying. Cheryl nearly screamed at me when she realised that she would be missing the one event anyone going to Darwin should see... That being the nighttime Mindil Markets. Supposedly this is THE event to see, but alas we were a week early... :( So instead we headed to 3 markets, in Palmerston, Parap and Nightcliff and saw the Crocasaurus Cove, which was in the centre of town. That was all we could do... It was either too hot or I didn't really want to make Cheryl walk. I know, it's sad but at least Cheryl got to see another city.
The flight to Darwin was nice. Flight back I didn't do much except sleep. But the flight to Darwin we watched 'It's Complicated' and oh my gosh you could hear the whole plane erupt in laughter towards the end of the movie. The movie on the way back was Crazy Heart. I must say this was a more serious film and slower to take off. Anyway, it was good to know that at least I didn't have to pay to see the movie, like I would have on Virgin Blue.
So yes, Darwin is now crossed off our list of places to visit in Australia. We've been to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra (of course) and now Darwin. The only city left to conquer and we're doing this in a few weeks is Hobart. Then I think after the baby arrives, we'll start planning our next epic adventures.
Remember how I said that Cheryl might have something to say about my previous post? Well, she did... Some of the pictures I uploaded she claims were not the best and wanted them removed. To me, any picture of Cheryl is amazing so why can't I share it with the world? Many of you all have asked can we see pictures of Cheryl with the 'bowling ball' (as she puts it) in front... I will try and obtain a nice picture for all to view. Stay tuned. I will update the photo album on facebook when I can. Same link as before to see the pics.
That's all for now. I shall post next after getting back from Hobart. We're seeing Cats in Sydney after that and then that's it. No more flying for Cheryl until after the baby arrives. But for me... flying I can still do... hehehe :)
Alex.

An update...
We've reached a big milestone now. Today marks 26 +1/40 in Cheryl's pregnancy. For those that don't know, 26 +1 is medical jargon (hehe) for 26 weeks 1 day. So things are moving along. The reason why this is a big milestone is because Cheryl gets to do the Glucose load test on Saturday. This is to see if her body deals with the glucose well. There isn't anything to worry about, it's very routinely done here in Canberra. Cheryl apologises for the absence on the blog because the thing is she is resting more and more these days, so not really much time to update the blog. But I'm sure with this posted, she'll post something quickly.
It has been a very long few months. We are currently half way in our many trips around Australia. So we've been to Sydney twice (with one trip to go), Perth and the Gold Coast, with Darwin and Hobart remaining before the end of next month. After that, I am travelling with dad to see Pandas in Adelaide (for a mere 5 hours) before picking up my sister in law and Ying Khai on July 1 in Melbourne the day after. That's it. No more trips after that.
We've also done some more furnishing around the house. A new couch, table and bookshelf were purchased from good ol' Ikea in Sydney recently. So the only thing missing now is the cot and everything is in place for the baby's arrival. May is a big month for us as well because the baby classes start then. Oh the joy, the joy of it all! :P June are my exams and then July is the exciting month. Who would have thought, 2 years and a bit after getting married we'd be welcoming our first bub. My father is quite optimistic about more though, after saying that it would be 6 of us next year celebrating his birthday, he said it should be 6 +1... With the +1 implying another one in the oven. We'll see dad... We'll see... :)
There isn't that much else to report. I will see if I can post up some pictures albeit on a facebook link so that you can see what we have been up to recently. Lots of travelling, but it's slowly but surely winding down... Our baby will be quite special. Our baby will have travelled to Melbourne, Malaysia, Sydney, Perth, Gold Coast, Darwin and Hobart before being born. Now how many babies can lay claim to such a title?
Until next time... :)
